Hi, I’m the Compulsive Canadian Gamer: a Winnipeg-based collector, gamer, and certified impulse buyer who decided the healthiest way to deal with a shopping habit was to make it a whole blog.

This site is exactly what it sounds like: a running log of pretty much everything I buy in the gaming and collecting world, one purchase at a time. Games, consoles, controllers, LEGO sets, way more Star Wars ships than any one shelf should have to hold, Vonado MOCs, VR headsets, and random hardware I convinced myself was essential. If I bought it, there’s a decent chance it’s getting its own post here, complete with a rating, a pros-and-cons breakdown, and an honest account of whether it was worth the damage to my bank account.

A few things about me and how this blog works:

• I’m Canadian, so prices are in CAD unless I say otherwise
• LEGO Star Wars is a genuine problem for me at this point. The helmet collection alone should probably concern someone
• I play across PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC, so the reviews aren’t locked to one ecosystem
• Every review here is a real purchase I made with my own money. No review copies, no sponsorships, just an unfiltered record of my own buying decisions, good and bad
• Ratings are out of 5, and I try to be honest even when a purchase was clearly a mistake

I started this blog partly as an excuse to actually think about what I’m buying instead of just buying it, and partly because I like writing about the stuff I’m into. If you’re trying to decide whether that new LEGO set, VR game, or piece of hardware is worth your money, hopefully one of these posts saves you the trouble of finding out the hard way like I usually do.
